We are delighted to announce we are now working with what3words to help make your recovery even more stress-free.
Breakdowns often happen in hard to describe locations. That’s why we’re using what3words to help find your exact location if you need roadside assistance.
What is what3words?
what3words is the easiest way for everyone to talk about location. Every 3 metre square has been given a unique combination of three random words: a what3words address.
what3words addresses make it easy to locate and communicate precise locations that can be hard to find.
This means that wherever a breakdown, incident or road hazard occurs, whether it’s on a rural road or the side of a motorway at night, you have a simple way to tell us exactly where you are so we can find you faster.
How do I report the location of an incident using what3words?
Open the what3words app.
Please ensure you are with your vehicle when reporting your location using what3words.
- Tap the arrow icon above the satellite mode, to find your current location.
- The what3words address will display at the top of your screen.
- Please wait for the blue dot to stabilise to ensure you have the most accurate* what3words address.
Important!
The app works offline, even in areas with no internet access, by using the device’s GPS signal.
* The location accuracy is dependent on your device’s GPS signal, which can be imprecise and constantly updating. It will be more accurate when you are outside with a clear view of the sky.
If you require emergency assistance, you can also give your what3words location to 999.
